The “4 Years of Distance” video series serves as a narrative tool, documenting the evolution of the BRIGHTskills project, a movement aimed at transforming the European health industries workforce. Focused on designing cutting-edge programmes and building a sustainable and adaptable workforce, the project’s storytelling unfolds in three actions: its inception, mid phase, and its conclusion.
This documentary video series captures the project’s commitment to addressing the pressing challenges faced by Europe's health industries, including talent retention, workforce mobility, and the skill mix needed for sustainable growth. This series will revisit the work package leaders at the start, mid, and end of the four-year journey.
The first series, published in 2025, captures the project’s partners' initial aspirations, hopes, and challenges envisioned by the project’s participants. Partners tell us about their motivations to participate in the project, the primary challenges for addressing the skill gaps in Europe’s healthcare companies, and their understanding of the project’s goals. Participants express their views on the need for innovative training programmes tailored to the evolving demands of the health industry sector, the importance of establishing robust certification and accreditation systems, the implementation of a European health industry strategy, and the potential for these frameworks to enhance workforce upskilling and reskilling across Europe.
